JOAN V. HAWKINSON
Joan was born in Seattle, Washington to Ora and Richard Heald on April 29, 1929. She became our Christmas angel on December 25, 2008, going to spend Christmas with our dad in their heavenly home. Joan worked at Fort Lewis and in Japan before marrying Vern, her husband of 50 years. She then did her most fulfilling job of being a wife and mom. She was a scout den mother, blue bird leader, PTAEmember, and neighborhood mom. Joan also loved her Thursday morning bowling league for over 30 years. She is survived by her loving children Dennis and Sue, her sisters Betty (Carl) Whinnery and Pat (Doug) Voss, as well as many nieces and nephews whom she adored. Special thanks to the Lakewood Healthcare Center for the care they gave mom. Memorial services will be held at 3:00 pm on Saturday, January 3rd, 2009 in the Mountain View Garden Chapel. 6/21/1946 – 12/18/2008 Passed away at Madigan Hospital. She leaves behind her son Troy G. Brown and granddaughter Brianna of Kentucky, her mother Christine Randolph, sister Eileen and Keith Greene, brother Toney and Molly Mathison of Tacoma, WA, sister Sherry and Gary Upper of Sammamish, extended family John and Laura Robertson of Gig Harbor, WA, many nieces and nephews.
