Clover Park School District is seeking applicants to fill a vacancy on the district‚Äôs board of directors created by the resignation of Elli Falk at the board‚Äôs Dec. 8 meeting.
Falk, a board member since December 2007, resigned her position as Director of District Five effective Feb. 11, 2009. Prior to her current term, Falk served as a board member from December 1997 through December 2002 for the same director position.
Applications for the Director District Five position will be accepted in the superintendent‚Äôs office through Monday, Feb. 9, 2009 at 5 p.m.
An applicant orientation session, which will include eligibility requirements, will be held Wednesday, Feb. 11, 2009 at 5 p.m. in room 4 of the Student Services Center (SSC), 10903 Gravelly Lake Drive SW in Lakewood.
The board of directors will hold a public forum for community questions of the applicants on Tuesday, Feb. 24, 2009 at 5 p.m. in room 4 at the SSC.
The board will hold an executive session to interview candidates and review candidate applications on Monday, March 2 at 5 p.m. in the superintendent‚Äôs conference room at the SSC.
The board expects to swear in the selected candidate on Monday, March 9.
The successful appointee will serve until the next regular school district election, which will occur in November 2009. Candidate filing is scheduled for June 1-5, 2009.
Applicants must be a:
- Resident and registered voter of Director District Five within Clover Park School District; and
- United States citizen.
Director District Five covers the Lake City area of Lakewood, and neighborhoods serving students of Greenwood, Beachwood and Clarkmoor Elementary Schools.
