FORT LEWIS, WA — Due to continuing poor weather and road conditions, only Fort Lewis military and civilian personnel who are designated as mission essential or critical should report for duty on Monday, Dec. 22.
Officials urge employees who are unsure about whether they are required to report for duty to check with their supervisors for instructions.
Military personnel should follow the instructions of their chain of command; commanders will determine who within their units are required to report and at what time.
Madigan Army Medical Center personnel should follow the guidance posted by the Madigan chain of command.
Post officials say that McVeigh and Wilson gymnasiums will be open on Monday, along with Post exchange and commissary facilities. Some Child Development Centers will also be open; patrons should call ahead to verify which centers are open.
In addition, post officials urge Soldiers, families and members of the workforce to monitor the Fort Lewis Public Website and the Fort Lewis Hot Line at (253) 967-1733 for the latest updates due to the changing weather picture. If necessary, information regarding changes to work reporting requirements will be distributed via the Web site and hotline.Print This Post
