Cipriano Amadeo, Sr., retired WWII veteran, passed Monday morning. Survived by wife of 60 years, Isabel, sister Roberta, children Allys and Manuel, Raymond and Terry, Marilyn and George, Elsie and Mike, Jesse and Rene, Virginia, Rennie and JoAm, James, Cyprian Jr. and Mia, 29 grandchildren, and 31 great-grandchildren. Those who have passed before him: Joyce Amadeo, sister Gliceria, brothers Delmacio, Mamerto, and Alexander. Viewing and funeral services at Mountain View Memorial Park, 4100 Steilacoom Blvd. SW, Tacoma, WA. Viewing Friday, December 19th 5-8:30PM in the Celebration of Life Hall. Funeral Saturday, December 20th, 1PM in the Valley Chapel. Interment following. Reception 5PM VFW Hall, 3510 East McKinley, Tacoma. Ora Lee Watkins Cavalier
Born OraLee Watkins June 30, 1925, she married Walter F. Cavalier, Sr. November 13, 1940, and died peacefully in her sleep December 13, 2008. Preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Ora and Walt will be spending Christmases together again. Ora retired in 1995 after more than 20 years in Clover Park SchoolEDistrict’s Student Nutrition Program, many of them as Kitchen Manager at Hudtloff Middle School. Ora is survived and missed by her 2 sons, Walter Jr. and Gary, and 2 daughters, June Tyson and Michelle, as well as her 13 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great-grandchildren. Besides her family and home, her greatest source of pride was her garden, where she spent endless hours making it a neighborhood showplace. Memorial services for Ora will be 2pm Saturday, Dec. 20, 2008 in the Mountain View Garden Chapel, 4100 Steilacoom Blvd., Lakewood, Washington 98499.
Marjorie (Hall) Mumphord
Marjorie Hall was born in Victoria, Texas February 24, 1919. She was the younger of two children born to Rosa Lee and Monroe Hall. Passed from our midst on Thursday, December 11th, 2008. Marjorie received Christ at an early age. She sang in the senior choir as one of the first sopranos and loved to share her beautiful voice, and enjoyed solos. Marjorie married Clarence A. Mumphord on December 28th 1940. To this union they had a son, Edgar Earl. Both preceded her in death. She loved to cook and had many special customers for her cakes and smoked turkeys. She leaves a devoted sister, Rosa Stoney, a niece, Brenda Moore (Sherman), of Detroit Michigan, two great-nieces, Janae and Shaila, two special cousins, Ethel Lee of Corpus Christi and Massie Wilson of San Antonio, Texas, and her Aunt Matilda, also of San Antonio, Texas. In addition, Marjorie’s passing is grieved by her lifetime friends and adopted family, the Nottages, Lydia and Mary of Tacoma, WA, Jerome and Dar of Puyallup, WA, and Keith of Portland, OR. Marjorie was a lifelong member of the McKinley Hill Friends Church and Elks lodge 180 “Lily of the West” and will be sorely missed by her many friends. Viewing is at Mountain View from 2pm-8pm. Service is Friday at 3pm at Mountain View Aspen Chapel.
Roberta Ann Nichols
Roberta Ann Nichols,born September 19, 1941, passed away peacefully at St. Joseph’s Hospital, surrounded by her family, December 13, 2008. She joined the Navy in 1959 and served honorably until discharged in 1966. She then worked for the phone company where she retired after thirty years of service. Roberta is survived by her son Kelly S. (Christine) Nichols, six grandchildren, (Sean, Sarah, Staci, Scott, Seth, and Shelby), two brothers, Bob Hull of Riverside, CA, Roger Hull of Portland, Oregon. Services will be held at 1 p.m., Thursday, December 18th, 2008 at Mountain View Funeral Home in the Garden Chapel.
