In response to the letter from Ms. Poso.
I am sorry to hear that a home owner in our community is suffering from health problems. I hope our community member enjoys a rapid recovery.
While I am not the anonymous neighbor who left the unsigned letter, I would like to share my observations and comments.
If the yard in question is the entrance property on the corner of Nyanza Rd SW and Nyanza Park Dr SW where all the trees were cut down, then I must agree with the anonymous neighbor. The home used to be very attractive. Since the property ownership changed, the property has raced towards slum conditions. Derelict properties breed crime and create a negative force in our community.
Might I suggest to the property owner that if they lack time, energy and money, they might qualify for a community help program to assist them with bringing their property back to a good neighbor standard. Some well placed calls to the City of Lakewood, local service clubs and the Help-line which is 211 on your phone dial, could possibly generate solutions.
If the property owner feels the need to be provided with a specific list of issues, I am confident that can be arranged, but I should not think it would be necessary.
