Lakewood Playhouse celebrates the season with the world premiere of an all new adaptation of Charles Dicken’s A CHRISTMAS CAROL. This new play — written, directed, and designed by Erin Chanfrau — presents the classic holiday tale of Ebenezer Scrooge and his encounter with the three ghosts of Christmas. This wonderful tale of redemption is under two hours long – a perfect holiday treat for the entire family.
70 Years logoA talented cast of regional actors bring A CHRISTMAS CAROL to life on Lakewood Playhouse’s intimate “in-the-round” stage. The role of Ebenezer Scrooge is played by Lakewood Municipal Court judge and veteran actor Ernest Heller.
“We are excited to bring this classic holiday story to the Lakewood Playhouse,” says Managing Artistic Director Marcus Walker. “Erin Chanfrau has crafted a wonderful show that will please the whole family.”
Ms Chanfrau decided to take a slightly different approach to the well known Christmas story. She took her inspiration from the story’s original subtitle – “A Christmas Ghost Story.”
“I wanted the show to be a little scary and lot of fun,” says Chanfrau. “I also wanted to keep the story short to provide the perfect holiday entertainment.”
