I am writing to inform your readers of a website that many of your readers can use to help out their community and schools, adoptaclassroom.org. Adopt-A-Classroom is a nonprofit organization that allows teachers to register their classrooms and receive access to a wide network of donors and companies that can help provide support for their students.
Many of the students in the schools in our area will not have a good holiday season due to the lack of food, clothing, and other necessities that are in short supply in their homes. Our schools also need help providing school supplies for students who do not have those resources. Adopt-A-Classroom helps teachers find donors who can supply these needs.
All a donor needs to do is go to the website, click on the Donors tab, and they may choose to either support a classroom teacher by name or choose a classroom based on location. Any donation helps, no matter how small.
I would also like to call on any teacher who has not heard of this website to register their classroom, as my district, Clover Park, has only 9 classrooms registered, and I know many more can use the help and support.
Thank you for your time and consideration.
