Pierce County Library will introduce new online services to allow people to book a Library meeting room or register to attend a Library program. The free online reservations will provide convenient scheduling from any location.
“We are pleased to offer this service to save people time in their busy lives,” said Neel Parikh, executive director of the Library. “They can confirm use of a meeting room or a spot in one of the Library’s programs at a time and place that fits into their daily lives versus only when the Library branches are open.”
Groups may reserve a room on the Library’s Web site up to three months in advance. Library meeting rooms are provided free for use by groups as a public service.
People will also be able to register online for many free events sponsored by the Library. The registration was successfully tested with the 1,600 people who attended the Pierce County Reads author event in April.
The new online services will be available to the public beginning Monday, Dec. 1.
The new services are offered in addition to the existing service in which people can write book and movie reviews on the Library’s Web site.
