Clover Park and Lakes High Schools will hold their annual Daffodil Princess selection ceremonies next week. Lakes‚Äô ceremony is Wednesday, Nov. 19 at 7 p.m. and Clover Park‚Äôs is Thursday, Nov. 20 at 7 p.m. Both events will be held in Clover Park High School‚Äôs Performing Arts Center, 11023 Gravelly Lake Drive SW in Lakewood.
Clover Park‚Äôs Daffodil princess candidates are Airol Mae Salanga, Kimberlie Hanes, Nicole Ford, Wendy Santiago Taduran and Jessica Jackson.
Lakes‚Äô Daffodil princess candidates are Katie Badger, Cathea Carey, Maili Dellinger, Kaitlyn Kessel, Sarah McKeown and Chanel Williams.
Princess candidates are seniors in high school and are nominated by staff members. They must maintain a 3.2 cumulative grade point average, and be actively involved in their school and community.
Twenty-three Pierce County High Schools select princesses for the annual festival. Princesses vie for various educational scholarships and for the title “Queen of the Daffodil Festival.‚Äù Princesses serve as festival representatives to community organizations throughout the festival season.
