The first annual Haunted House in Steilacoom was a great success! As the fog rolled in on Halloween night, Steilacoom’s main street and the orchard of the Nathaniel Oar home took on a whole new feel. With Batman ready for action, a masked convict wielding a running chain saw, zombies, butchers, demented barbers and more awaited just inside the door of the haunted house. Held at the Steilacoom Historical Society Museum we had around 600 attendees. With the help of over 50 volunteers from Steilacoom residents , local teens, and several Lakewood firefighters. Thank you volunteers you were the best! The Haunted House raised funds for the Steilacoom Historical society and Rise Up Youth Ministry, a ministry of Northwest Community Church. There will be a scrap book of the event at the Steilacoom Cafe so if you attended you may just see your scared self in it. We look forward to seeing everyone at next years Haunted House which is sure to be a very scary time.
