LAKEWOOD, WA — Lakewood Playhouse continues its 70th anniversary season with WAR OF THE WORLDS a Radio Play. This 70th anniversary gala event is directed by James Venturini.
A talented cast of regional actors bring WAR OF THE WORLDS to life on Lakewood Playhouse’s intimate stage. This is a one time event celebrating Lakewood Playhouse’s 70th Anniversary and the 70th anniversary — to the day — of the infamous Orson Welles radio broadcast that panicked the nation.
“This is an exciting event,” says Associate Managing Artistic Director Scott Campbell, “we are excited to celebrate Lakewood Playhouse’s 70th anniversary with this recreation of the original broadcast.”
WAR OF THE WORLDS runs one night only on October 30th, 2008. Ticket prices are $40 for single tickets and $70 for couples. Each patron receives a complementary glass of wine and hors d’oeuvres at this gala event. Preshow reception begins at 7 pm and the show begins at 8 pm.
