Charles Wright Academy in University Place is gearing up for the South Sound’s largest rummage sale. The weekend of November 8 and 9, the school’s Parent Association expects to raise more than $50,000 to help build a new Language and Performing Arts
Center. Organizers are issuing a special invitation to local military personnel and their families to get a jump on holiday shopping at the sale.
There will be more than 20,000 square feet of goods at the annual Wright Stuff rummage sale. Volunteers have been collecting, sorting, testing and cleaning donations for the last year. There will be lots of gently used clothing, books, toys, household
items, furniture, sporting goods, and antiques donated by the families of CWA’s 732 pre-k through high school students.

For more than 30 years, local families have lined up early in the morning to kick off the holiday shopping season at Charles Wright. It’s not unusual for shoppers to begin arriving around 6a.m. on Saturday morning. Several thousand customers are
expected to pass through the doors by the end of the weekend.
Charles Wright has also donated vouchers for $1,000 in merchandise to Phoenix Housing Network, an emergency and transitional housing program operated by Catholic Community Services of Western Washington. The school hosts the Phoenix Housing Network’s
shelter for homeless families twice a year.
Goodwill and the YWCA are also partnering with the school to make good use of any goods that are not sold by the close of business on Sunday.Print This Post
