The Washington Finance Officers Association of the United States (WFOA) is pleased to announce that the City of DuPont, Washington has received the WFOA’s Distinguished Budget Presentation Award for its 2008 Budget. This is the third consecutive time the City of DuPont has received this award.
The award represents a significant achievement by the entity and is the highest form of recognition in fiscal planning and budgeting within the State of Washington. It reflects the commitment of the governing body and staff to meeting the highest principles of governmental budgeting.
In order to receive the budget award, the entity had to satisfy nationally recognized guidelines for effective budget presentation patterned after the Government Finance Officers’ Program. These guidelines cover policies, operations, financial planning and communications. Budget documents must be rated “proficient” in all four categories to receive the award.
The City of DuPont was one of seven entities throughout the State who received this award in 2008. The WFOA is a non-profit professional association serving government finance professionals throughout the State of Washington.Print This Post
