University Place celebrates ‘Make a Difference Day’ Saturday, October 11

October 5, 2008 By Ben Sclair

Make a Difference Day is Saturday, October 11, and the City of University Place is gearing up with a host of organized events for volunteers from 9 a.m. to noon. Several parks will benefit from beautification, including the Adriana Hess Wetlands, 2917 Morrison Road West, University Place, and Homestead Park, 3716 Bridgeport Way West, University Place.

Make A Difference Day is the most encompassing national day of helping others – a celebration of neighbors helping neighbors. Everyone can participate: friends, families, businesses, athletic teams, civic groups and individuals.

Morning refreshments will be provided for all participants. Please bring gloves and hand tools for planting and raking leaves and debris.

For more information about Make a Difference Day, contact Parks Maintenance Supervisor Todd Smith at (253) 460-6493.
