Members of the Lakewood Arts Commission volunteered their time and talent to support the upcoming “Empty Bowls” program sponsored by the Emergency Food Network. Empty Bowls workshops were conducted at Manitou Community Center and featured individually designed handmade pottery by local artisans. Bowls will be sold for $10 each at the South Park Community Center on South Tacoma Way from 2 to 5 pm on Sunday, October 12.
Each bowl purchaser will also be treated to a bowl of gourmet soup and bread as a reminder that bowls are intended to be full, not empty this coming Holiday Season. Admission to the event is free. Proceeds of the event will be used to support Emergency Food Network programs. Additional details are available at www.efoodnet.org or by calling 253-584-1040.
