Stand for Children members, and Lakewood and University Place residents are invited to officially kick off the South Sound Chapter of Stand for Children. Stand for Children volunteer leaders are holding the kickoff event on Sunday, August 17th to teach parents and other concerned individuals how to use grassroots action to hold local and state-wide decision makers accountable for fully funding public schools.
We will use the strength of our voice to persuade decision-makers and voters to prioritize schools and children’s programs. We will secure their support for effective solutions that improve children’s lives. We will stand for children.” says Stand for Children Team Coordinator, Melanie Krook. “You cannot step into our local community without finding a lively conversation about educating our children.”
