Classic cars, pancakes, music, a silent auction and a drawing for a $250 gas card will all be available at the Steilacoom Historical Education Foundation fundraiser on Sunday, July 20 (9 am-3 pm) on Lafayette in Steilacoom.
Car enthusiasts who own classic cars from the 1920’s through the 1970’s will pay a $20 entry fee to show off their restoration work. Entrants will each receive a free T-shirt and will compete in 32 award categories and are eligible for half-hourly drawings.
The pancake breakfast, sponsored by the Steilacoom High School Key Club, will run from 7:30-11 am. The hot dog lunch starts shortly after and runs until 2 pm. Vendors will be set up on Wilkes St., along with music from the 40s, 50s, 60s and 70s.
Proceeds from the event will be used to fund scholarships for Steilacoom Historical School District students and the Community Youth Programs. Chris Guppy, Steilacoom Historical Education Foundation Board, says, “SHEF awarded $16,000 in scholarships and $3,700 in grants to the schools in the Steilacoom Historical School District last year.
“The annual SHEF Car Show provides a unique fund raising opportunity for Steilacoom organizations and businesses to particiate and for all of us to show off this beautiful setting”, says Carol Beckwith, event committee member.
