Governor Chris Gregoire has directed that flags at all Washington State agency facilities be lowered to half-staff Monday, June 23, in memory of U.S. Marine Corps Sergeant Michael Toussiant-Hyle Washington of Tacoma who was killed in action in Afghanistan June 14.
Flags should remain at half-staff until sunset Monday or first thing Tuesday morning, June 24.
Other government entities, citizens and businesses are encouraged to join this recognition.
Sgt. Washington, who was 20, will be buried June 27 at Tahoma National Cemetery. A graveside service is scheduled for 1:15 p.m. at the cemetery (18600 S.E. 240th St. in Kent).Print This Post
