Harrison Preparatory Academy, formerly the 5-12 Learning Community, will host an orientation and information night Tuesday, June 17 at 6 p.m. in rooms 6 A and B of the Student Services Center (10903 Gravelly Lake Drive SW).
The event is designed to familiarize students and their families with the school, its programs and staff. The school enrollment process will also be reviewed and there will be time for questions. Light refreshments will be served.
“This is a great opportunity for potential students and their families to see the great things that are happening at our school,” said Lisa Boyd, principal. “We offer a personalized, rigorous education and we really know all of our students.”
In 2003, Clover Park School District was awarded $540,000 to develop a new, smaller learning community for grades 5-12 as part of a Washington State School Grant from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. The school opened in September 2005 for grades five through nine. This year, the school has fifth- through 11th-graders. The 2008-09 school year will host the first senior class.
