John Arbeeny made an interesting rant (read letter here) in today’s issue of the Suburban Times. As usual he held himself as the defender of the public good and asserts that Lakewood should not allow gambling, in his opinion, to be in the best interest of Lakewood’s citizens.
Well, ol’ John baby’s view of what is best for me, my family and my city has seldom been the same as my view. I can also say the same for the current members of the city council who, along with John Arbeeny, are members of the clandestine group РLakewood Cares.
If the council were to consider eliminating gambling in Lakewood then I suggest they also move towards abolishing the sale and use of alcohol and tobacco as well. The reasons are obvious and exactly the same as the reasons to eliminate gambling in Lakewood.
