The City of University Place will ring in the summer season on Saturday, June 7 at the 9th annual Duck Daze Celebration. The day-long festivities include the popular Duck Daze Parade, the Fire and Police Open House, and the Treasures in the Park Community Antique Sale and Flea Market.
The Duck Daze Parade commences at 10 a.m., running from 27th to 37th Streets along Bridgeport Way in University Place. See the yellow duck-themed procession march in the parade with the beat provided by musicians from Curtis High School, complete with a Corvette convoy of City Councilmembers.
After the parade, the University Place Public Safety Building will provide free refreshments and hotdogs prepared by U.P. Firefighters. Kids will enjoy touring the public safety facility and sitting in the big rigs and engines that keep the community safe. The Fire and Police Open House also features low-cost custom-fitted bike helmets and life jackets available for purchase.
At the same time, the Treasures in the Park Antique Sale and Flea Market will fill the scenic Homestead Park, offering bargains galore for shoppers of all ages with karaoke and an assortment of food vendors and entertainment all afternoon.
