A bright new display of Steilacoom’s history is now available for viewing in the Steilacoom Historical Museum on Rainier Street. Open Saturday and Sunday from 11 am to 2 pm, the town’s history is told in a series of wall mounted designs.
In addition to the historical display, a collection from the Territory’s first library is also included on the ground floor.
Downstairs is an education room and you can see how Steilacoom residents lived in the mid 1850s.
Adjacent to the recently renovated and upgraded displays is the historic Orr House and the Wagon Shop with a great collection of all kinds of period tools.
