The Washington Association of Educational Office Professionals recently held its annual winter board meeting via video-conference. Sites were available in Wenatchee, Spokane, Grandview, Oak Harbor and Steilacoom. Ms. Kathy Lech and Mrs. Dana Ballou, both of the Steilacoom Historical School District, took part in the conference.
Kathy serves on the WAEOP Board of Directors as the Professional Development Chairman, and Dana has just been appointed to represent Area 11 (Pierce, Lewis and Thurston counties) on the Washington Association of Educational Office Professionals (WAEOP) Board of Directors.
Mrs. Ballou is the secretary of Anderson Island Elementary School. She brings a lot of enthusiasm and technical experience to the Board of Directors.
The WAEOP Board will hold its annual spring conference, set for April 18-20, 2008 in Pasco, WA. Members will attend workshops on Internet Predators, Office Ergonomics, MRSA, Contemporary Issues in Education, and Legal Issues. The Community Service Project for this conference is to bring a new stuffed animal that will be distributed to Safe Harbor Crisis Nursery in Kennewick, WA. Safe Harbor is an emergency respite and receiving center for children.
