LAKEWOOD — Clover Park Technical College Board Member Shauna Weatherby has been appointed as an associate member of the Association of Community College Trustees’ (ACCT) National Diversity Committee.
This appointment is an honor for Washington State trustees and for Pierce County’s community and technical colleges. This appointment will allow Mrs. Weatherby to share her educational and professional expertise as a Registered Nurse at the national two year college level.
“Mrs. Weatherby will be an asset to the group,” said Dr. John Walstrum, president of CPTC. “Her keen understanding of the educational needs for students will greatly benefit the ACCT Diversity Committee.”
Mrs. Weatherby is one of twelve associate members nationwide to be appointed to the ACCT National Diversity Committee. Mrs. Weatherby’s appointment is effective the 2008 calendar year.
The mission of the ACCT National Diversity Committee is to “promote respect for and acceptance of diverse individuals and to promote awareness and educational opportunities for underrepresented populations.”
