Kindergarten students from Miss Medina’s and Mrs. Keith’s classes at Cherrydale Primary School in Steilacoom enjoyed a Turkey Day dinner preview this past Tuesday.
Youngsters donned Pilgrim-type accessories to get in the spirit of the traditional Thanksgiving event. Before eating, thethe pilgrims and pilgrimettes serenaded their guests with a medley of seasonal songs.
Tables were arrayed with colorful placemats, decorated with autumn leaves and ‘thankful’ messages that included: “I am thankful for: my dogs Buster and Rex, for Mom and Dad, for building a boat, for a key, for a soda, a flower, and when my Mom takes me somewhere.”
The bountiful feast included an assortment of casseroles, salads, cream-cheese-filled celery sticks, cheetos, and plenty of desserts, but nary a turkey in sight.
