Lakewood Fire District 2 will be hosting a Safe Sitter course on December 26, 27 and 28th. SAFE SITTER is a medically accurate program that teaches boys and girls age 11 to 13 how to handle emergencies when caring for young children.
SAFE SITTERS learn:
- CPR and Choking rescue
- How to call for emergency help
- Basic child care skills & diapering, feeding, etc.
- How to entertain children and keep them safe
Young children cannot always communicate their needs or protect themselves. The babysitter must be able to handle whatever situation arises. Lakewood Fire District 2 will offer a Safe Sitter course at Lakewood Fire Station 2-0, located at 10928 Pacific Hwy SW on December 26, 27 and 28 from 8:30 am to 12:30 pm. You must be able to attend all three days in order to participate in the course. The cost of the course is $20. Scholarships are available if necessary. Registration deadline is December 21st. If you are interested and would like more information, contact Hallie McCurdy of Lakewood Fire District 2 at 983-4579.
