Harry Lang stadium was filled Friday night to watch the annual Lakewood Bowl. A long standing tradition of Lakes and Clover Park high schools final regular season game is always one of the best attended games of the year. Much like our state matchup at the Apple Cup, when these two teams play, anything can happen.
For Clover Park it was the finale to a well played season. For number one ranked Lakes the game topped off a perfect season taking the Western Cascade Conference title.
This year the game belonged to Lakes from the first few minutes. Lakes Calvin Schmidtke completed 15 of his 19 passes for more than 200 yards. Another player to watch during the state 3A playoffs will be Kavario Middleton.
Lakes will start their bid for the state title this week at home against Issaquah.
