If ever there was a group of businesses that needed community support it would be those in Meadowpark Plaza (Corner of Lakewood Drive and 74th). You know, where H&L Produce, Casa Mia, Vinotique and other small businesses are located. Oh yeah, O’Gallagher’s Bar, in the same complex, also played host to a few gang shootings this month. Not the kind of publicity the neighboring businesses want to read.
So, when Deb called suggest we go to H&L Produce to get the kids a pumpkin, neither of us hesitated. While there, we looked across the parking lot to Casa Mia. “You hungry?” I asked. Deb nodded. My pizza (pictured above) was as great as usual. Deb’s Spicy Chicken Caesar was the perfect mix of spice and chicken. The kids each had spaghetti and meatballs. All served hot and timely.
Its been more than a few weeks since I’ve been in Vinotique, but I’ll have to make a point of swinging by for lunch soon. While there I saw that a new restaurant is preparing to open next to Vinotique.
I rarely editorialize in this space, but this group of small businesses needs our support. Eat, shop, and feel safe.
