Stephanie Marciante, wife of Pfc. Luigi Marciante, releases the following statement and attached photos:
“SPC Luigi Marciante, or as we all knew him Louie, was my everything. My best friend, my husband. A devoted father to his newborn son, Lorenzo. He was a son and brother to be proud of. He loved life, and made the best out of even the worse. His presence could brighten up any room. He was always there when I needed him most. He did everything he could to always keep a smile on my face. In the last email he sent me on 15 SEP 2007, he said that he’d be coming home soon and that we would be a happy family soon. He told me how much he loved me and how he spent his days thinking about me and our son, and looking at our photos together as a family. He was so proud to be a daddy. He always talked about all the things he had planned to do with is son, and teach him. Louie’s last words to me were, “I love you steph, always & forever. Give Lorenzo a hug & a kiss and tell him that daddy loves him”. Lorenzo will know that his daddy was a true hero who sacrificed his life for us and his country. He will live on forever in our hearts and memories. One day we will all be reunited as a family by the greater powers from above. Louie is gone, but never forgotten. A true American Hero, me and our son are so proud of him. One day we will be able to embrace you in our arms again. We miss you and love you Louie, always”.
