Please come and be a part of the discussion regarding the future of Tillicum!
The Lakewood Community Development Department will conduct a public meeting on Tuesday, October 2, 2007, to solicit input and discuss options for improving traffic circulation along the Union Avenue corridor in Tillicum. The design of the Union Avenue roadway is a fundamental issue to be addressed in upcoming plans for redevelopment of the Tillicum area. Options for improvement include increasing the width of Union Avenue from 40 feet to 60 feet, or establishing a one-way “couplet” system using adjacent parallel roadways.
The purpose of the meeting is to provide information about the on-going planning effort, and receive public comment on the specific issue of Union Avenue SW. The City is seeking input from those persons who reside, work, or own property in Tillicum about their preferences with regard to Union Avenue SW. Public comment about Union Avenue will help shape the scope of future redevelopment efforts in Tillicum.
The meeting will be held at the Tillicum Community Center located at 14916 Washington Ave. SW. The meeting will begin at 6:30 P.M.
If you have questions or would like to learn more about the City’s planning efforts for Tillicum, please contact the Lakewood Community Development Department. Written comments are also welcome.
