Regarding a letter asking about the salmon currently running up Chambers Bay/Creek.
The Chinook (King) that are currently coming up are nice size, varying in size from jacks 5-12lb to the larger in the 20 to 30lb range. I have seen quite a few salmon this year netted in the the upper 30’s which is not seen here in recent memory. The Chinook King is the absolutely wonderful on the barbeque and the pinks are very good for smoking as they tend to have more oils. The Puyallup is great for pinks this year!
Hope that helps!
