The City of Lakewood will be developing its Fiscal Year 2008 One Year (July 1, 2008-June 30, 2009) Annual Action Plan as required by the U. S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). The Plan will describe the community development, housing, and public services needs and strategies the City proposes to undertake with Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) and HOME Investment Partnership Act (HOME) funds to benefit low and moderate income individuals. The Fiscal Year 2008 One Year Annual Action Plan will describe the activities for which CDBG and HOME funds are proposed to be used for meeting the needs.
In addition, the City of Lakewood is seeking input on human services needs for Lakewood citizens as applications for funding of 2008 programs to provide youth programs and basic needs such as food and shelter are currently under consideration.
The public hearing will provide an opportunity for citizens and agencies to provide testimony on the community development, housing and human services needs.
Applications for CDBG and HOME funding will be accepted from Nov. 1 – Dec. 3, 2007. Forms will be available starting mid-October, 2007 on the City’s website at www.cityoflakewoood.us or at the City of Lakewood, General Services Department, 6000 Main St. SW, Lakewood, WA 98499, or by calling 253-589-2489.
