Steilacoom’s main street is deep into a reconstruction project that will leave Rainier Street looking entirely different when completed. When the project is finished, the street will include a sidewalk on one side and limited parking where possible.

Rainier Street’s view as it passes the Orr House and Steilacoom Museum building will be dramatically different as the street is widened and improved.
While Rainier Street construction is underway, the Steilacoom
Historical Museum Association discovered it needed to do work on the Orr House chimneys. The scaffolding on the building is a result.
Leaving the tunnel of trees on the bottom of Steilacoom
Boulevard cars normally turn to the right. This part of the street is also being rebuilt so traffic has been redirected straight ahead.
