Lakewood resident, former Reserve Deputy and Lakewood Police Department reserve, Ken Witkoe is running for the Clover Park school board district position #2.
Ken, a resident of the Oakbrook area, is running because he wants to reclaim Clover Park schools to its former rank among the best school districts in Pierce County. “In order for a community to be great, it must have great public safety, economic development and public schools”, Witkoe says. “We must do all we can to make the CPSD more attractive to student, teachers and parents.”
State WASL scores, although improving, still rank Clover Park schools at, or near, the worst in the county. “We must take a line item look at the budget and find out how much of the $126 million dollar budget is actually getting to the class rooms. We must search for, and hire a new superintendent that can provide aggressive leadership to the staff and faculty & with a NO excuses attitude in developing our children and encouraging parents to be actively involved their kids education.”
The primary election is August 21st, 2007.
