Remember long-ago Friday evenings when the family gathered around a tall, wood cabinet and Dad tuned in the dial for a favorite radio program?
A return to those “good old days” of pre-television entertainment, with a “behind-the-scenes” peek at how a radio broadcast was prepared, will be one of the skits featured. It’s just one part of Saltar’s Point Elementary School’s Arts Impact Gala, set for Wednesday, June 6 at the school.
The evening program includes music, dance, visual arts and drama. A pre-show Gallery Walk, featuring student art work will be displayed throughout the building that evening.
Also on the program is the song about Sadako and the 1,000 Cranes and the Anasi Spider Story. Student “pioneers” will recreate scenes from the Oregon Trail and the exploration of Lewis and Clark. Fifth graders will perform a student-choreographed dance as part of the evening’s program.
The show begins at 7 p.m.
