A 42-ft round labyrinth is being completed in Steilacoom.
The walking path is located on the grounds of Cherrydale Primary School on Galloway Street. The school’s pathway is the second labyrinth in the area. Another is located off Chambers Creek Road on the grounds of the Pierce County Public Works department.
Steilacoom’s labyrinth is being built with help from the school’s PTA, community volunteers, students and soldiers from the 504th Battalion, 42nd MP Brigade at Ft. Lewis. Basolite of DuPont donated the paving stones that will form the pathway. Work on the project began on April 6 and is expected to be finished by April 20.
The school plans an official dedication in late April or early May, according to labyrinth project coordinator Teacher Kathy Thomas.
