Steilacoom Historical School District is on the move.
Coupled with a new middle school under construction, and remodeling/modernization to its high school among recent capital improvement projects, the district also is assessing where to put its growing population.
Because of its expanding student population, Steilacoom’s board of directors recently requested a review concerning grade level assignments and schools.
As a result of those findings, the district is proposing a three-year, three-phase plan for that grade realignment. This involves shifting students in the primary through middle school grade levels.
Letters detailing the proposed alignment were mailed to all Steilacoom Historical School District parents on March 6. While a community forum is scheduled for May (date and time to be announced), the alignment plan currently is available for review on the district’s website at www.steilacoom.k12.wa.us.
