The largest architectural firm in Pierce County (BCRA) has completed the survey in which many voiced opinions as to Tillicum’s ‘Extreme Makeover’. BCRA’s presentation will be made the second hour of the Tillicum/Woodbrook Neighborhood Association (TWNA) meeting Thursday, March 1, 6:30 PM at the community center (14916 Washington Ave. SW.)
The first hour of the association meeting will feature a panel discussion of the Landlord-Tenant Law (LTL) and how it could and should pertain to the several substandard housing situations in our neighborhood. Len Adams, Tacoma Pierce County Health Department, and Carola Regan with Pierce County – an expert on the particulars of the LTL – will answer your questions, whether you are a landlord or a tenant.
“Got Mold?” – special Health Dept. DVD to be shown on mold in your home and what to do about it.
Some additional important announcements:
- Adre’Anna Jackson case gets a boost from Clear Channel Corporation-sponsored billboards.
- Earn a $100 gift certificate to Goodwill by completing all eight sessions of the Family Financial Freedom class that begins March 5 at Bill’s Boathouse. It’s all free and is open to just the first 20 that register so open your attachment and sign up right away.
- Wal-Mart, with the assistance of Chief of Police Larry Saunders, may be donating as much as $2,000 for kids in Tillicum/Woodbrook to play baseball this Spring.
Finally, “The Community Herald” newsletter committee approved 700 copies (an increase of 100 over January’s issue) for this edition. These are distributed door-to-door throughout the Tillicum/Woodbrook area by our team of nearly 20 volunteers. If you can assist with this project, call or email David Anderson (or 988-2536). There are entire streets and blocks that are as yet unassigned. And the upcoming meeting proves to be very important. Help us get the word out!
