What kind of music makes a raisin want to get up and dance?
Heavy Metal? Rock & Roll? C/W?
Any kind of music, according to future entrepreneur/scientist Matt Burgess, whose dancing raisins were a featured attraction at the recent Saltar’s Point’s Science Fair.
Besides the bouncing raisins exhibit, the science fair featured more than two dozen displays such as an erupting volcano, a laser star, and an easy-to-make fire extinguisher.
The after-school Fair, on Feb. 15, featured a spectrum of works by students in grades 3-5.
Burgess’ demonstration drew a large group of curious visitors to his “dance hall.”
Props included dried grapes& AKA “plain old Albertson’s raisins,” a large metal bowl, water, baking soda, vinegar, and-for a dash of excitement-food coloring.
Once Burgess added all the ingredients in the bowl, the raisins began to dance-well, sort of.
No word yet on whether any talent scout offered him a contract. Stay tuned.
