I’m a little late in reporting this, but following is a chart of our visitor statistics.
We had over 117,000 page loads in 2006. (Each time a complete web page is presented in your web browser, that is considered a page load.)
You will see that the monthly page loads dropped fairly dramatically in September through the end of the year. In September, I began including the entire story and photos in each email sent out. Prior to September, if you wanted to read a story, beyond the first 50 words, you had to click through to the web site.
From reader feedback, you like having all the content in one place (your email). The encouraging part of this is we still average over 5,000 page views per month in the last quarter, so there are many people visiting the site, that have yet to subscribe.
This story marks the 2,037th item posted to the website. (Here is the first one from July 5, 2005). All these stories are about OUR communities (DuPont, Fircrest, Lakewood, Steilacoom or University Place), our neighbors, our schools, and our businesses.
Also, we have a great Community Calendar (just added), FREE classifieds ads (self-serve), and local banner ads from businesses in our communities.
So, tell you friends, send us a letter, submit a calendar event, take a cool picture and send it to us, support our advertisers (even if you only stop by to thank them for supporting The Suburban Times with their advertising), or buy an ad yourself.
I’ll try to keep everyone updated with what is happening behind the scenes. And as always, don’t hesitate to drop an email with a question, comment, concern or rant.
Here’s to a great 2006, and an even better 2007.
