Looking for a timely holiday gift? Oakwood Elementary staff is selling 2007 calendars featuring art produced by staff and students.
“Every student at Oakwood Elementary, kindergarten through fifth grade, colored, painted and drew to create our first Oakwood art calendar,” said Lea Corvin, calendar coordinator.
“The 12 pieces of art in the calendar were inspired by famous artists. The project taught students skills and techniques that famous artists used. It also provides them with the opportunity to share their art with the community.”
Money raised from calendar sales will go toward field trips for all classes. For example, one fourth grade class will go to the Washington State History museum to support an allied curriculum.
The impressionist inspired composite art calendar is priced at $7 per copy. Deadline for ordering calendars is Monday, Dec. 18.
