Award winners. Members of the district finance office recently received an award of excellence from the Association of School Business Officials (ASBO) and the Government Finance Officials Association (GFOA) for the district’s comprehensive annual financial report. Finance employees David Knechtel (left) and Wiley Sampson along with others in their department produced the report.
For a sixth year, the Clover Park School District finance department received a Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting from the Association of School Business Officials (ASBO) and the Government Finance Officials Association (GFOA).
The award commends the district’s production of its comprehensive annual financial report known as the CAFR.
“The finance department produces a CAFR and submits it to ASBO for review. If our CAFR meets with their requirements and standards, we are awarded the certificate of excellence affectionately known as a COE,” said Lynn Wilson, director of financial services.
He said the district isn’t required by statute to produce a CAFR and that most school districts don’t.
