Quinn Zander-Conn has joined the staff of Lakewood’s Northwest Commercial Bank, according to an announcement from CEO & President Kurt Graff.
Zander-Conn will serve as assistant vice president for finance, Graff said. He will assist CFO George McNelly as the four-year-old bank continues its rapid growth.
The new assistant vice president is a graduate of Western Washington University in Bellingham with a degree in business administration and an emphasis in finance.
Before joining Northwest Commercial Bank, Zander-Conn spent three years at Columbia Bank. He has also worked part-time with H&R Block for six years doing tax returns for individuals and small businesses.
He is a native of Puyallup and graduated from Rogers High School before attending Western Washington University.
Graff said the staff addition is necessitated by the continued growth of the bank. In a remarkable financial turnaround, the financial institution has gone from a net loss of $105,498 at the end of September 2005 to a profit of $277,030 at the close of business on September 29, 2006. Bank President and CEO Kurt Graff said the bank has now enjoyed 15 consecutive months of profits.
The latest quarter showed a profit of $103,281, compared to a profit of $46,641 during the same quarter one year ago. Deposits at the end of the latest quarter climbed to $52,326,228, an increase of nearly $19 million from a year earlier. Loans were $44,048,838 on September 29, 2006, an increase of $16 million, the bank executive reported. Total assets soared to more than $58 million, a 49 percent increase over the prior year’s total of $39 million.
Northwest Commercial Bank is a full service bank specializing in serving individuals and small businesses. “Our experienced bankers make the difference and our customers have shown that they were ready for more individualized service. We believe we can provide all of our customers the type service only shown to private banking clients at other banks,” Graff pointed out.
Northwest Commercial Bank is located at 5726 100th Street SW in Lakewood.
