If you live or work in the West End (of Fircrest), please join us in our campaign and for an update/ strategy session to address concerns with Wal-Mart’s local plans. We have formed a local community group to insure that Wal-Mart does not enter our community without first operating in a much more socially responsible manner and that any other project sited at the Mildred and 21st property has a positive impact on the quality of West End life. This means maintaining safe and flowing traffic on our streets, maintaining good air quality, low crime and poverty rates, a healthy tax base and a variety of lively small businesses.
Fircrest Against Wal-Mart Strategy Session on Wal-Mart Supercenter in West End Wednesday, October 18, 7-8:30 pm, Tacoma Community College Building 28, Room 106. Park in the lot near NE corner of 19th Street & Mildred (east of Transit Center).
