“Our Town,” Thornton Wilder’s masterpiece of Americana opens at the Lakewood Playhouse October 20.
A simple story of more simple times, Wilder tells the tale of the folk of Grover’s Corner New Hampshire in thrilling monologue and dialogue. It is so natural and beautifully written it almost makes one weep at the innocence.
Doug Kerr, chairman emeritus of the Pierce College Theatre Department, directs this slice of life and slice of time. Kerr has amassed a talented cast to tell the tale, which, according to the director, is seldom done by adults.
Lakewood Playhouse’s last production of Agatha Christie’s “Black Coffee” was sold out almost every performance. Don’t wait too long to make reservation for “Our Town.” It promised to follow suite.
For more information or reservations, call the box office at (253) 582-4963 or go online to www.lakewoodplayhouse.org.
The Lakewood Playhouse is located in the northeast section of the Lakewood Towne Center, next to the Pierce Transit Depot.
