One of Associated Ministries’ most popular events is the annual Community Services Resource Fair. This one-day fair is the quickest and most effective way to learn about the wide range of human services in Pierce County.
Do you know where to turn when someone comes to you looking for help? Can you help them find emergency food and shelter? Do you have ready referrals for people dealing with the challenges of troubled youth, family violence, chemical dependency? If the answer to any of these questions is no, then this event is for you.
This year’s Resource Fair will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 17 from 8 a.m.-2:30 p.m. at University Place Presbyterian Church, 8101 27th Street W in University Place.
Meet service providers firsthand: agencies dealing with children and families, domestic violence, counseling, chemical dependency, AIDS, housing, homelessness, emergency services, hunger and more.
In addition to agency displays, the program will include a wide variety of workshops and panel presentations on such topics as emergency assistance, domestic violence, mental health, substance abuse, emergency shelter and transitional housing, senior services, church and government, and many more.
Who should attend? Any persons interested in human services, caring ministries, missions or social outreach, including clergy, church office staff, administrators, ministerial staff and students.
The registration fee of $20 per person includes continental breakfast, lunch and resource materials. Three or more reservations from a single organization will receive a group rate of $15 per person. A student rate is also available.
Have you attended the fair in the past? Consider a refresher to meet new service providers and acquaint yourself with changing trends in human services. New to the region? There is no better way to access so much information so quickly. For information or a registration form, contact Associated Ministries at (253) 383-3056, ext. 120 or email@example.com.
