If you’ve ever wanted to canoe the Boundary Waters Area of Minnesota, or surf the waves in Costa Rica, or explore the ruins of Machu Picchu, or explore New York City’s Wall Street, or sea kayak in Alaska, then Girl Scout “Destinations” could be your ticket to travel across your state, your country, your globe. There are many benefits to being a Girl Scout and one of them is applying for a “Destinations” trip, a travel program sponsored by Girl Scouts of the USA for girls 11 & 17 and adults.
Girl Scouts & Pacific Peaks Council offers a “Destinations” workshop on Wednesday, October 18 at the Girl Scout Center in DuPont from 6:30-8 p.m. The workshop fee is $3 and gives information on the application process, finding the right trip and suggestions on funding the trip to make it happen. Girls who have recently traveled a “Destination” will join to share their experiences and answer questions. Attending the workshop is not a requirement. Go online at www.studio2b.org/escape/ for the available list of “Destinations” and to download an application. Girl Scout membership is required and costs $10 per year.
