Clinton Stephen Delano
4/2/1932 & 9/22/2006
Born in Lincoln, Maine but made his home in Washington. He is preceded in death by his wife of 44 years, Lillian Jean Delano. He leaves behind his wife, Daphyne and children Steve (Karen) Delano, Debbie (John) Baker, JoAnne Delano, Donna (Warren) Blakeslee, Mike (Kathy) Delano, Cathy (Tom) Lubking and 14 grandchildren. Graveside services will be held at 10:30 am on Saturday, September 30, 2006 at Mountain View Funeral Home with a reception to follow at the Celebration of Life Center, Oak Room.
Vernon D. Hawkinson
Vern was born in Elbow Lake, Minnesota on December 7, 1932 to Ruby and Arthur Hawkinson. He died from complications of pneumonia on September 23, 2006 in Lakewood. Vern was a charter member of the Lakewood Elks #2388, as well as a member of the carpenters Union and the Operating Engineers Local 302.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Joan, his son Dennis, and his daughter Susan (Sue). He is also survived by his siblings Dee (Loren), Kenny (Marleen), Joanne, Keith (Cheryl), Loel (Lori), and Colleen, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Special thanks to the Lakewood Fire Department Paramedics, St. Clare Emergency Room and I.C.U. staffs for the outstanding care they gave, as well as the prayers from our many friends.
Memorial services will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, September 30, 2006 in the Mountain View Garden Chapel.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Leukemia Foundation in Vern’s name.
Evelyn Ann Costantini
Born October 25, 1913 in Tacoma, WA to Albert W. and Laura A. Pasquan, Evelyn died peacefully on September 24, 2006 at the age of 92.
She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Emidio (Ed), two daughters, Laura Ann Booth (Richard), and Patricia Ann Kolowinski, brother, Albert L. (Nancy), 11 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great-grandchildren, and nephew Albert L. Pasquan, Jr.. She was predeceased by son, David M. McGovern.
Visitation will be held from 12:00 & 9:00 PM on Friday, September 29, 2006 at Mountain View Funeral Home. Private family services will be held.
Samuel Joseph Vetter
Beloved husband, father, grandfather and uncle, Sam was born July 7, 1917 in Shields, North Dakota and died on September 15, 2006. Sam was one of twelve children born to John and Katherina Vetter. In 1942 he moved to Tacoma with his new bride, Audrey, and retired in 1979 from the Asarco Smelter where he worked as a weigh master. Sam loved his classic Chevrolets from his first new one in 1939 to his favorite ‚Äò57. It was his pride and joy to keep it in mint condition, even as difficult as it was over the years to get parts for it. He also enjoyed bowling on leagues with the smelter and with his grandson, Mike. Spending time with his family, gardening with Audrey and building things in his workshop with Mike were a special joy in his life. Family, for Sam, always came first.
He will be missed dearly by his loving wife, Audrey, his son, Sam L., daughter, Starlin (Bob) Brown, grandson Mike Brown and many, many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and all eleven siblings.
His family request that donations may be made to the St Joseph Hospital Dialysis Unit at P.O.Box 1502, Tacoma, WA 98401 in Sam’s name where Fletcher, Lulu and everyone there at St. Joseph Hospital took such wonderful care of him. His family would also like to give heartfelt thanks to all of their friends and extended family that have been so supportive during this difficult time.
A celebration of his life will be held at The Mountaineers in Tacoma (2302 North 30th) on October 6, 2006 from 4-8:00 p.m.
Marian P. Hayne
Marian P. Hayne was born Feb. 16, 1919 in Niles, OH and passed away Sept. 24, 2006 in Lakewood. Marian graduated from McKinley High School in Niles, OH in 1937 and had retired from Sears & Roebuck Co. She was a member of Little Church on the Prairie in Lakewood. Marian is survived by her brother and sister in law Harlan & Betty Hayne of Madison, WI; their daughter Catherine and many, many friends. Memorial services will be held 10:30am Thursday, October 5, 2006 at Little Church on the Prairie, 6310 Motor Ave. SW in Lakewood.
Dana Gettmann 48, of Tacoma, passed away September 23, 2006. He is survived by girlfriend and longtime companion, Nancy Mull, their daughter Stephanie Gettmann, brothers Jerry Gettmann and Steve Gettmann (Caryn), two nephews and numerous relatives and friends.
Viewing will be from 1 & 9 PM on Saturday, September 30, 2006 at Mountain View Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 1:00pm on Sunday October 1, 2006 in the Mountain View Celebration of Life Center.
James Robert “Bob” Litton
James Robert “Bob” Litton, 85, died of natural causes. He is survived by his family; son John Litton, daughter Jan Gottschalk, sister Virginia Volbrecht, grandchildren: Jeff, Greg, Samantha, and Heather; and great-grandchild Sophia.
He served in World War II as PFC with the 577th Motor Ambulance Company and was a member of the Grand Masonic Lodge of Tacoma Washington.

Dana Bradley Hunter
Our beloved Brad passed away suddenly on September 23rd, 2006 at age 44 in Tacoma, WA.
Born January 29th, 1962 in Tacoma, his younger years were spent growing up through the 8th grade in Lakewood and then moved to San Marino, CA where he graduated from San Marino High School and UCSD in San Diego.
Throughout his life he was actively involved in all sports particularly golf. He was an avid golfer with an inherited legacy from a long line of Hunter Pacific Northwest Golfing Champions.
For the last 20 years he was involved in Commercial Real Estate both in California and Tacoma.
He will be remembered and missed for his great wit, incredible humor, and charming personality.
He is preceded in death by grandparents, Chuck and Louise Hunter, Dudley Waller, and uncle, Chuck Hunter.
He is survived by his mother, Barbara Johnston; father, Dana J. Hunter both of Lakewood; sisters, Debbie Rowland (Gary) and Delinda Baughan (Jim); a niece and nephews, Megan, Jayson, Kennedy and Riley. In addition, he is survived by his grandmother, Evelyn Waller, and numerous Hunter and Waller relatives and many friends.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00am on Friday, October 6th, 2006 at St. Mary’s Episcopal Church, 10630 Gravelly Lake Dr. SW, Lakewood, WA 98499.

Betty Louise Heselwood

Betty L. Heselwood, a devoted mother and grandmother, took the Hand of God to go be with her departed husband, Victor, on this day of Our Lord, September 24, 2006.
She is survived by her children: Carla, Mark, Gary and Gail; as well as 9 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandchild, several nieces and nephews, and sisters, Lois and Shirley.

Adelaide “Addie” Ressler
Adelaide “Addie” Ressler, 89, patriarch of the Ressler family house, left her earthly home on Sept. 22, 2006 at her home in Edgewood. Addie was a devoted Christian, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend.
One of Addie’s greatest joys in life was caring for the home, cooking, and baking for family and friends. She loved sharing from her kitchen and her heart with a visit to the sick. Her thoughtfulness and generosity were unprecedented, including special occasions with cards and gifts.
She lived in Edgewood for 60 years and was a member of the Edgewood Community Church, Ladies Aid, and volunteered at voting polls.
Graveside services will be held at 2:30 pm on Wednesday, September 27, 2006 at Mountain View Funeral Home, 4100 Steilacoom Blvd SW, Lakewood, WA. Memorial Celebration of Love will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, October 7, 2006 at Edgewood Community Church with a reception to follow.
