Don Rehburg and Bob Mize have been selected to lead a pair of Steilacoom’s civic organizations for the coming year.
Rehburg was re-elected to lead the Steilacoom Chamber of Commerce for 2006-07, and Mize was elected president of Kiwanis of Steilacoom.
Recent election results were announced at the Chamber’s annual Membership Dinner, held on Sept. 25. Out-going Kiwanis president Homer Dodge passed the gavel to his successor at the Kiwanis membership meeting on Sept. 21.
Cindy McKitrick has been re-elected to serve as the Chamber’s Vice President. Past Chamber president Dan French was re-elected to serve on the Chamber’s board of directors.
Mr. Mize is Key Club advisor at Steilacoom High School, where he teaches science classes. Steilacoom Mayor Ron Lucas was chosen as president-elect for Kiwanis. John Inselman was honored as Kiwanian of the Year. (See related story about the Chamber’s Business of the Year.)
For more information about the Chamber phone Rehburg at 582-4204. Contact Mize at 589-1229 for information about Kiwanis.
Note: Membership in the Chamber of Commerce is open to Steilacoom residents.
“You don’t have to own a business to belong to the Chamber,” says Chamber secretary Veva Maddox. While the organization’s membership primarily is comprised of Steilacoom business owners, it also welcomes residents who are interested in supporting the organization’s community activities, Maddox added.
