Jerald Lee Maack
Jerald Lee Maack (58) of Puyallup passed away early Monday, Sep. 18, 2006. He is preceded in death with the love of his life Sandra Lee Maack; his son Kenny (Laurie) Maack; two grandchildren Samantha and Severen Lee Maack; brother-in-law Gig Harr; his sister Gwendolyn Schneider; two brothers Leonard and Gary Maack; and many nieces and nephews. Randy was born and raised in Tacoma, Washington. He graduated from Wilson High School in 1962.
Randy was a Veteran of the Vietnam War; he served two tours, the second in Germany. After completing his service in the Army, he became a Firefighter for the City of Tacoma in 1973. He enjoyed all of his 20 years with the Tacoma Fire Department and retired as a Lieutenant. The love and memories of the Fire Department stayed with him all of his life.
His passion for life and love of helping others was exemplified by his love of family, friends, golf, boating and red wine.
On June 27th, 1987 Randy married his high school sweetheart and the love of his life Susan (Furse) Hayes. Susan and Randy were preparing to celebrate their 20 years together by touring Europe.
This March, Randy was blessed with his first grandson Hunter, who quickly melted into Randy’s heart as “Grandpa’s Boy”.
Randy will be deeply missed by his wife Susan; daughters Charla (Mark) Sandal and Angela Hayes; Charla and Angela’s mother Lyn (Jim) Rogers; daughters Kelly (Steve) Fischbach, Kymm (Simon) Calis and son Scott (Mary) Lucas; grandchildren, Hunter, Hannah, and Rachel Sandal; sister Judy Hayes and niece Lori Schultz.
He is preceded in death by his parents Gertie and Harold Hayes, and his brother Denny.
A memorial service will be held for Randy on Monday, September 25th at 1PM at The Celebration of Life Center at Mountain View Memorial Park, 4100 Steilacoom Blvd. SW, Tacoma. Services will be followed by a reception at the Tacoma Firefighters Hall, 1109 South 50th Street, Tacoma.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Fire Fighters’ Burn Center at St Joseph Hospital, 1718 South “I” Street, Tacoma, WA 98402 or the charity of your choice.

Calvin E. Glass
Age 85, of Tacoma, joined the Lord on September 18. Calvin was born on February 16 in Okay, Oklahoma . He served his country for 23 years, was a proud World War II Veteran and retired from the Air Force in 1965. Calvin was married to Ilse for 54 years and she preceded him in death in 2003. He is survived by his daughters, Rosita and Joceline, son Morgan, grandchildren Roger, Jessica, Emily, Sarita and Jasmine, and great grandchildren Amber, Morgan, Bailey and London.
Calvin loved learning and continued taking college courses until late in life to stay current with the latest communications and computer technology. His hobbies included tinkering with electronic communications devices, sports, traveling and meeting people. In the Air Force, Calvin was an electronics communications specialist, work that he continued in civilian life. As a civilian he worked in places such as San Juan , Puerto Rico and Tule, Greenland . One of his proudest memories during World War II was when he worked as communications support for the Tuskegee Airman unit in Italy.
Our Papa and our Opa, we will miss you. You will live on in our hearts and memories.

Richard Gale Wagener
78, born 4/21/1928 in Cedar Bluffs, Nebraska and passed away 9/19/2006 in Gig Harbor, WA surrounded by his loving family. Richard worked 45 years in the airline industry starting with TWA and retiring as a VP at GATX.
Richard is survived by his loving wife of 20 years, Teddee of Gig Harbor, WA; son, Steve (Carol); 2 daughters, Katherine (John) Pelkey of New York, Cynthia Wagener of Seattle, WA; step-daughter, Gina (Vince) Villeneuve of Auburn, WA; 2 brothers, Wayne Wagener of CO, John Alexander of MO; 5 grandchildren; and 1 great-granddaughter.
